Konek Asia is committed to your wishes in all areas of digital marketing. To the extent that we strive for innovative solutions and tools for our customers, we also use them in our everyday lives. We combine experimentation and innovation with the protection of our users’ data and ongoing work to improve our offerings. Of course, we observe the applicable Indonesia data protection law.

UNDERSTANDING

By using our services, you agree to this data protection declaration and also to the functions described therein, namely the use of cookies and the use of analysis tools and aids for target group-oriented or individualised advertising. If you do not agree with these functions, you can of course use the opt-out methods described below.

You can refuse or control the use of cookies in the current versions of all common web browsers (such as Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer and Safari). In addition, the providers of the analysis and marketing functions mentioned provide their own tools (such as special browser add-ons or opt-out cookies) for setting their cookies and similar means; among others, the providers affiliated to the Network Advertising Initiative under and those of the Digital Advertising Alliance under.

PURPOSES

We use the data collected by us to maintain the relationship with our customers and interested parties in our services, e.g. to design our newsletter “Konekasia”; to further develop our website and adapt it to new needs; and to offer them relevant information and services.

NEWSLETTER

As a newsletter subscriber, you provide us with the details of your subscription, first and foremost your e-mail address and your preferred language; in addition – if you wish – your surname and first name, your company and position and your Twitter account. In a confirmation e-mail you will see how this data has been collected. You can change your profile at any time or unsubscribe from the newsletter. We also use our newsletter lists to create Custom or Lookalike Audiences or Similar Audiences (see below) on platforms such as Facebook, Twitter or Google. You can refuse this use at any time. If you provide us with your Twitter account, we will be able to find out on a case-by-case basis which topics you are publicly tweeting on.

We use MailChimp for the administration of newsletter contacts and the dispatch of newsletters. MailChimp is a service that, among other things, supports the design and target-group-oriented addressing of e-mail newsletters. In MailChimp, we record the details of your subscription to our newsletter (via our website or our lead form on Twitter or Facebook, if necessary manually with your consent). MailChimp uses session cookies as well as pixel tags/web beacons in our e-mails in order to be able to assign opening and clicks to users. The data is processed directly on the service’s servers located abroad. Information about such steps by users (e.g. the duration, sequence and URL of visits and page views, as well as information about the device used, operating system, browser and settings, approximate location) are also transmitted there; by registering for the newsletter, you agree to this.

LOGFILES

When you visit our website and call up pages or content there, you leave information about the manner of these accesses, such as your selection of pages (URL), date and time of your visit, the IP address of the device used, information about the device type and its operating system, browser identification (user agent string). This information is collected in server logs of our web servers and stored for one year for debugging purposes.

OWN COOKIES

We use cookies to store the language chosen by the user for the next visit.

ANALYSIS TOOLS / DIGITAL MARKETING

We work with modern, advanced analysis methods and tools to understand user behavior on our website. This information helps us continually develop our offerings and provide targeted, relevant services and information. In principle, we only use data that is anonymous and does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about the identity of the user.

In the following, we present the analysis services and technologies that we use for such purposes. In addition, we show you how you can prevent these services from evaluating your usage behaviour on our website.

Our website uses tools and functions of other providers which serve to collect and statistically process data about the use of the website by users. These findings allow us to offer users of other services on the Internet (such as Google or Facebook) targeted, relevant information and advertising. These include Universal Analytics, AdWords and Click / DoubleClick Floodlight as well as Dynamic Remarketing from Google, Facebook Custom Audiences and Facebook Connect, Twitter Advertising, Optimizely and Mailchimp.

These services use cookies, tags and tracking pixels for their respective purposes. Cookies are small code components loaded onto the user’s device that enable, for example, identification, user settings in a website, administration of a session or log-in. They also allow the collection and evaluation of the user’s visits and interactions in various web services and the transmission of this data to the web server. Tags are short code modules that are integrated into websites and mobile applications to report to a server whether a user has performed a certain action (e.g. a click on a button). Pixel tags (or web beacons) are tiny image files that are embedded in websites or e-mails and allow conclusions to be drawn as to whether they have been accessed.

GOOGLE UNIVERSAL ANALYTICS

Google Analytics is an analysis tool that prepares statistical data about the use of our website by users. It sends information about page views and steps taken by users (e.g. the duration, sequence and URL of visits and page views, the page from which the user came, as well as information about the device used, operating system, browser and settings and approximate location) to Google’s servers. It uses cookies and similar means, such as tracking pixels, to recognize users and associate them with different steps and visits across different devices and sessions, using anonymous features such as random identification numbers. No personal data is transmitted to Google; IP addresses used for spatial allocation are “masked” in advance (shortened by certain digits). Google explains further details in its data protection documentation.

You can deactivate Google Analytics for your browser using an add-on.

DOUBLECLICK

DoubleClick and AdWords are advertising offers from Google that use cookies to recognize visitors to our website on other services. You can opt out of this by changing your browser settings on the Google Selection page.

GOOGLE ADWORDS CONVERSIONS AND GOOGLE DOUBLECLICK FLOODLIGHT

Google AdWords Conversions and Google DoubleClick Floodlight allow us to determine how clicks on ads or information on Google platforms effectively lead to transactions and similar actions on our part by users. These features use temporary Google cookies and do not process individual user data. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser or by using the options provided by Google.

GOOGLE DYNAMIC REMARKETING

Google Dynamic Remarketing is used by us to compile groups and lists of users and website visitors according to criteria, e.g. based on certain activities, or from existing data records (e.g. newsletter subscribers), by means of anonymous ID identifiers, which are lent by cookies (e.g. by Google Analytics), in order to be able to offer them information and advertising for our services and content that is fair to their interests and preferences on Google’s services. Google also uses cookies for this purpose. You can prevent the use of these cookies specifically for advertising on Google services and a number of other providers (on the Digital Advertising Alliance).

GOOGLE TAG MANAGER

We use Google Tag Manager, a function to integrate tags into our website. This captures the IP address of incoming http requests and stores it for a short time to correct integration errors.

FACEBOOK CUSTOM AUDIENCES

Facebook Custom Audiences helps us to compile groups and lists of users from existing data records (e.g. our newsletter subscribers) according to certain criteria in order to be able to offer them information and advertising tailored to their interests and preferences on Facebook’s services. Before transmission to Facebook, this data is irreversibly encrypted on our computers to so-called hash values (encrypted numerical values), which Facebook uses to compare with its user base. You can opt out of this form of advertising by setting your browser preferences on the Digital Advertising Alliance’s Selection page.

FACEBOOK LOOKALIKE AUDIENCES

Facebook Lookalike Audiences are used by us to compile groups and lists of users from existing records (e.g. our newsletter subscribers) according to certain criteria in order to offer relevant information to users with similar interests and preferences on Facebook’s services. The data is irreversibly encrypted on our computers to so-called hash values (encrypted numerical values) before transmission to Facebook. You can opt out of this form of advertising by setting your browser preferences on the Digital Advertising Alliance’s Selection page.

FACEBOOK CONNECT

Facebook Connect is a Facebook feature that allows Facebook users to use their Facebook identity to sign in to other websites, apps and services. This other service will gain access to certain Facebook preferences and social and affiliation relationships on which it can base its own offerings. This follows the user’s settings on Facebook. More details can be found in the Facebook explanations. Facebook may use information about the steps users take on such other services in order to recognize visitors to our site on its services and to offer them for the interests and preferences of the user. You can opt out of this form of advertising by setting your browser preferences on the Digital Advertising Alliance’s Selection page.

OPTIMIZELY

Optimizely is an analysis tool that analyses the use of our website by users and allows us to offer our content to specific target groups as well as perform A/B or multivariate tests. It uses cookies to recognize users by means of anonymous features and to assign different steps and visits to them. Information about such steps by users (e.g. the duration, sequence and URL of visits and page views, the page from which the user came, as well as information about the device used, operating system, browser and settings and IP addresses and the approximate location) are also transmitted to the provider’s servers. However, no personal data is transmitted to zely; IP addresses used for spatial allocation are “masked” in advance (abbreviated by certain digits). In principle, data is only collected if a) the snippet is installed on the URL in question and b) a test is activated. Optimizely explains further details in its data protection documentation. Optimizely offers a method of refusing to use these tools on our website.

TWITTER ADVERTISING

Twitter offers advertising services that use cookies or use mobile device IDs or hash values (irreversibly encrypted numerical values) for email addresses to recognize visitors to our site on its services, to provide advertisements relevant to the interests and preferences of the user. These options may be restricted or denied in the Twitter account settings.
